Quikscribe features from ABP Digital
Quikscribe offers the very latest PC based dictation and transcription software. The following pictures will show you a selected number of features that are available with this Australian designed and supported digital dictation solution. There are four different QS versions available. These include the QuikScribe Wireless technology allowing total integration and full digital dictation functionality with Windows PC functions such as Email, Word, Calendar, Task. A PC based author / typist setup. A Network document management solution and finally a professional typist option that will allow typing from any brand of digital recorder. Back to Top
*QuikScribe Front screen (New, Open Undo, Redo, Draft, Sent, Settings.) Back to Top
*Add important and relevant information with each job* Back to Top
*Audio jobs shown with complete details supplied* Also available in a more "Detailed View" Also built into Quikscribe. If you right click on a wav file or a DSS file, you only get the default General and Summary Tabs, which basically tell you nothing about the file internally. But with ours new custom tabs, detailed information regarding the file history for both Author and Typists is available. Which I believe adds significant value and better demonstrates the power of the IAF compared to all other audio formats. Back to Top
*Indicate to a typist where a text document or image is attached to the voice file, with a simply copy and paste prompt saving hours retyping text* Both Quikscribe Recorder and the Quikscribe Player are able to insert files or documents within an IAF (Intelligent Audio File). For example if an author had a contract that needed changes, both the contract and the dictated changes can be saved within the one file. That way when the typist receives the audio file, both the contract and the dictated instructions are within the one file. Conversely, if a typist is working on a document, but for one reason or another needs to close the file and do something else, the document being transcribed can be saved and stored within the file. Alternatively the document can also be link to, which is another method associating a document and file together. Back to Top
*Voice activation that really works Back to Top
*Password protect and encrypt all audio files for total security* Quikscribe provides the ability to encrypt audio files, a feature not simply possible with audio tapes. Yet once the audio file has been encrypted, it is still 100% manageable, e.g. all of the meta data is still available e.g. Authors details, Duration, Matter No etc. The reason is, rather than encrypt the entire audio file, we first make a new IAF and copy the management meta data within it. Then we encrypt the entire original file and place this encrypted file into the new IAF. In doing so, the new IAF can still be managed, yet all of the actual audio content and any images or attachments within the IAF is fully encrypted. Back to Top
*Choose when you want a job
returned
All files
sent from the Quikscribe Recorder are automatically queued based on the files
priority. When a file is sent by an author, the author has the ability to set
a
Required by
time for the file to be completed by. For example, if 4 hours was selected, the
Quikscribe Recorder adds this value (4 hours) to the current date and time and
saves this information to the beginning of the file being sent for
transcription. As a result, the file being sent, now has a prefix added, as
illustrated below.
*Send jobs to a department,
ask for a return document or a notification it has been typed, add a comment.
Under the File menu in the Quikscribe Player it is possible to choose a typist or a department for any voice file. You can also able to add a comment to an IAF. You would use this feature if you ever had to close a mid-file (not completed). As a result, multiple typist can work on the same file over a period of time and a complete history of who has done what and when is maintained within the file. When you select this option a Comments dialog box appears, allowing you to enter a comment. When this file is opened up again by either you or another typist, a Comments History will appear detailing Date & Time the file was opened and closed last, the previous typists name and any comments or instructions. Quikscribe send voice jobs via network, email or FTP
*Split files between different typist* *Auto send via network, email or FTP* Sending large audio files via your network, e-mail or a FTP address can sometimes be a problem, as a lot of mail servers restrict the size of e-mails etc. To solve this problem, we have a unique feature that allows you to split a large audio file into multiple smaller audio files. The naming convention when an audio file is split is Filename_01, Filename_02, Filename_03 etc. Additionally, when the audio file is split, an overlap used, thus eliminating any chance of splitting a file mid word.
Audio files can be split
based on audio duration and will work with either IAF or WAV. *Automatically email* The Quikscribe Player has an option under the Settings Icon to automatically notify the typist when new files arrive. Depending on the current status of the Quikscribe Player and the type of file that has arrived, determines the visual feedback provided to the typist (as demonstrated below).
Quikscribe auto notify a typist a job has been sent
*Automatic notify the typist of jobs* Note: Automatic File Notification (if enabled) works regardless if the typist has the Quikscribe Player open or closed. This is because, even when the Quikscribe Player is closed, a small service is always running within Windows, looking for new files. If a file arrives, an audio prompt is played and the Quikscribe Player is automatically opened and minimised. As a result, transcription files can never be overlooked or forgotten.
Quikscribe user log in and profiles
*Have multiple typist or recorders using the same computer with their own profile/settings available*
We offer a choice of two "in your office" demonstrations styles. Either organise a date that suits you or where applicable request a rolling demonstration. Simply book a day and time that suits for our visit and we bring all relevant digital dictation software and hardware products we supply. The rolling demo works in such a way, we have you set us up in one of your office rooms, you simply inform all your relevant staff we will be sitting and waiting to demonstrate the very latest digital dictation systems we have available. This means no time restraints are placed on your staff. Author and typist can come and go at their own pace. Email sale@abpace.com for our demo pack and video presentations.
